SOLUTIONS FOR GROWING YOUR BUSINESS
Fresh Ideas to grow
your business!
Release your full business potential with a marketing audit

What is a Marketing Audit?

The marketing audit is similar to a financial audit. It is a review of your business and your existing marketing activities. Carrying out a marketing audit gives you the opportunity to assess how well your past and present marketing activity has performed. It also provides you with valuable information when planning future marketing campaigns.  However, a marketing audit is not a replacement for a full marketing plan, nor will it detail the marketing solutions you need using marketing channels and campaigns to boost your business. So why bother to have one?

Why you need a Marketing Audit

As you well know, the business world rarely stays still. Things are constantly changing, so a marketing audit is an ideal way of taking a snap shot of how your business and your marketing are doing. It’s an essential reference tool that gives you the ability to see where you’ve been, where you are now and points the ways to where you want to be, based on your own real business and marketing experiences. It is the tool that will help you shape a more effective marketing plan and identify the marketing campaigns that work best for you. It is the key that will open the marketing door to release the full potential of your business.

What do I get in my Marketing Audit?

Your Marketing Audit will look at the economic situation, your competition and your own market. It will consider these areas from your own business's point of view - will any changes affect your business, your competitors and your market?

The economic audit will cover:

Political  -  Government legislation  including  tax etc.
Economic  -  Income levels, employment levels, rate of inflation, rate of economic growth
Social  -  Demographics (population growth/distribution, age), lifestyles and cultural values
Technological  -  IT, Internet, broadband etc.
Legal  -  UK health & safety, employment law etc), EU Law
Environmental  -  Affect of your business on the environment, social responsibility

The competitive audit will look at:

• How competitive is your market?
• Where do you stand in the market?
• Who are your competitors?
• What are your competitors doing?
• What are your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats?

The market audit will consider:

• Total market size growth and trends
• Products, prices
• Distribution channels
• Your target customers
• It will also look at how much you know about your own situation
• Sales (total, split by geography, industry, customer, product)
• Market shares
• Profit margins
• Costs
• Marketing activity
• Effectiveness of your current marketing campaigns

What do you need to do?

Your investment will be in your time. To enable me to complete the audit I will need about one to two hours of your time to discuss your business, your marketing and your goals. It may well be the most productive two hours of your week.

Is it worth your time?

Don’t take my word for it. Here are some comments from business owners who have had a marketing audit and gone on to become my clients:

“Thanks for your input Andrew. Your marketing audit report has really helped to pull a lot of ideas that have been floating about into one document. It will also help provide a focus on what we should be doing and why.”
